|
|
I was finally able to acquire an original Manx-2 roller. The body is at the shop getting striped and resprayed. The problem I have is I can't decide to redo the original chassis or go with one of those from manxchassis. In the meantime I have to store it so it doesn't get damaged and have thought bout attaching the painted body to the wall so it stays out of the way, plus I can still drool on it when I go in the garage. The only problem is I can't find and definitive info on the overall length of the fiberglass body itself. Does any one have one they could measure from the tip of the fiberglass to the very end? If someone has the info, I'd be much appreciated.
Thanks,

I can measure mine once I get home. Any pictures of what you picked up? |

I'd appreciate it. I don't have a pic, I bought it off of here and am picking it up and taking it straight to the bod shop. |

I would suggest PAINT be last step before final assembly.... Fit body to pan or tube chassis, cut all necessary holes and drill all necessary holes, patch all mangled portions previous owner made in body... Once it matches pan and all hardware you will be putting in/on buggy during "final" assembly, then send body out for stripping and paint.... Even hanging on wall it will get scratches and dings....
The more you "work" around body the more chance to damage finish and the more touch up repairs you will have to do before you can take it out and show it off in public....

What Dale said! Paint should always be last. You will be drilling and fitting parts until the end of the build. _________________ Google this.

Depending on how you hang it on the wall the body will be distorted to some degree and will require more tweeking when you get ready to mount it to a pan or frame. Paint it last as has been suggested. |

YES, DO NOT hang it on wall.... IT is probably warped bad enough now, do not help it warp any more.... IF you have never **built** a buggy before you do not understand fiberglass bodies .....
IF body is in shop now, I would tell them to NOT put on final color coat, leave it in primer till build is almost done then do color coat before final assembly....
