I recently moved to Flint Michigan. I have a 1991 Vanagon, it needs some work. Its really leaky and loud from sitting since last spring. So my question is, who can I trust around Flint to work on my Van? |

Flint?
Better be looking for an Armory to mount twin mini guns or at least twin 50's in a turret on the roof.
Kevlar window cover's would be good. _________________ T.K.

I live just south. (Ortonville), and have a 82 westy. Would be glad to help with questions, advice, and some cool clubs/campouts.
There are some good shops locally, but the labor rate will make you do it yourself. I do.....
Welcome.

First off, hi and welcome. Secondly, Macomb Township here and the only places in the area are Steve's European Auto and Munk's. Both in the Waterford area. The VW Parts Place is in Auburn Hills and is at I-75 and University - good for finding parts. Finally, Just like some of the other.. I am always willing to help \ give advice\opinions or whatever. _________________ 1987 VW Vanagon, Wolfsburg Ed. Weekender |

How about some photo's of your ride and a descriptions of the problems?
Loud can be fixed with some new exhaust pieces and leaky is usually front crank seals and valve cover gaskets. Give it a good engine cleaning and see where the oil is coming from.
Just sounds like you need to spend some time, money and love. You might learn a few things while your'e at it. _________________ 67 Cal Look Beetle

Accept those offers of help and get to know the locals who are willing to help. Even if you cannot do all the work they can help you with what you CAN do and then you can a shop do some of the rest as necessary. _________________ Dave O

You beat me to it. Maybe some bars for the windows, too. Wow! Brave dude. That's like a fireman that runs into a burning building. Sorry UpstateSatCom, all I can contribute is smart ass comments. _________________ "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch.
