ive posted some pics in the pg/sg thread but heres a find/build thread
Og paint under the house paint.
heres the little tale..
up b4 sparrows, met dad an headed off on our merry way in the slug, non turbo cruiser, slow but did the job nicely..
recovery gear
pissing down an foggy all day
here it was after 4 hour drive
pulled it out
an loaded up
that took about 20 mins, its been converted to a caravan so no brake components exist in it.
then we had some trouble..
ground was so uneven an wet, too much weight... damn
had to pull it with the ratchet strap (good thinkin klaus) to the driest part an re attach onto the cruiser.
that took 3 hours to unbog it..
sorry about ur yard.. hehe
an away home...
then back home for a beer!!!
mission of a day, but well worth it.
massive thanks to dad for givin a hand an takin the day off, and all the drivin round.. an to daniel for lettin us use his cruiser...
now onto the fun stuff
started to clean the out side then ill get into the inside..
before
after
bit more
givin it the gurney once over
best rack on top, galvanized pipe..
little more work, lots of scrubbing an gurneying...
this
to this
started on the front
lots of work still
stupid beam thingy welded in
interior shots, all there but not in a good state
og bumper bolts
wolfsburg front bar for it (thanks henry an dork...)
cleanin front door
rear corner. this
to this
front floor gone
rear needs work
what sills?
mmmmmmm
just the front skin to go an some fiddly sections. heres a recap.
this
to this!!!
pulled the semaphores out, dated 5/11 put on ye old 6v battery, an hey presto, they light up and work like new!!!!
so as it was
nearly
all done..
bit of work done on it previously so red oxide the bare metal..
both sides all clean, just need to get into some nooks an crannys to clear out the white paint
oh no, wild weathers comin, away they hide...
been collecting some bits for the 55... nothin too fancy but enough to get me wet..
thanks to rick for the goodies.
5x 1/55 matching rims og paint
sg valance
needs the latch plate welded back in but og paint.
-20- case close to bus build date too
cleaned a little
rear hatch an 55 glass..
with cool sticker in it too...
3-55 speedo. needs love but close to the car thanks Ian an shaun
og 'soft green' rear seat cover
lookin for front seat still if any one has one
an all 3 rows of seats icluding 6 legger, thanks Gabor!
front
middle
rear
Heater log (mines cut out)
An thanks Wally for the early bulkhead, needs work but should fill the massive void in it.

WOW, awesome bus, I am extremely jealous. Of both the bus and the diesel cruiser. I am about to pick up an HDJ81 and it too will be pulling buses around. |

Super cool PG/SG, has all the desirable bits, safaris, third b light, right hand drive...you must be in Australia I guess? Like that you are going the original route with the engine. _________________ Go Reds! Smash state!

Thanks for the comments guys, I am in Australia an tryin to keep it ratty/Og looking as possible. With some personal touches. Ill convert to 12v but use a 90mm generator on the 36hp case, still tossing up wether to keep it as a stock 36er or do the ww Okrasa kit for a little bit more power just to keep up a little on the roads with modern traffic, no indicators are goin on it too stayin with semaphores.
Should be a good build when I get stuck into it. Have the birth cert for it too, but it tells me nothing about it apart from the birthday.
No options (safaris) no color (Pgsg) upholstery not mentioned (soft green)
Prob cause it went to England then distributed here. But no visible pinstripes on it which is strange..
Have a pressed rear bar comin shortly too (thanks dale) so pix will be posted, not Pgsg paint but still a rear bar none the less. I'd rather of paint but sometimes have to make do.. _________________ shiny paint doesnt make it worth any more |

You might wait 6 months and order another one. Seems alot of the times that someone gets a useless one, they order another a time later and get one that is actually filled out. You might be suprised. |

Only reason I'm picky is because I'm Australian an the bus is in Australia too, the English originally shipped all the crims here 200+ years ago an most immigrate here too, (or get kicked out again. Haha) there's only a little bit of water between Australia an England.. Hehe _________________ shiny paint doesnt make it worth any more |

A guy in Germany makes them, Gabor is his name an really nice guy to deal with too. He has a blog but I've been tryin to find it for you (hence why no pm reply yet, sorry)
His email is. [email protected]
Shoot him some questions if u like, I know they are repros but for the price of seats in Australia, it was easier an cheaper to do it this way an they are amazing too.
Ill keep searchin for the blog for u _________________ shiny paint doesnt make it worth any more |
