Headed south on I-5 about 75 miles north of Bakersfield, CA yesterday
when my alternator seized ....
With a serpentine belt system & one belt - no cooling fan,
no power steering or power brakes.
I limped into the Pilot at the Lost Hills exit (Hwy 42 to Paso Robles).
I lucked out, AUTOZONE out of Lamont by Bakersfield had an alternator - serpentine belt - tensioner tool
and they made the120 mile round trip to deliver it to me at no charge ....
I had parts by 10:30 p.m. and was on the road by 9:00 a.m. this morning.
Thank you Autozone ! _________________ Jim is on the road @ http://www.trulyvintagetrailers.citymax.com/trulyvintage-feedback.html |

Wow. Very impressive customer service for a nationwide FLAPS chain. And X2 on the Lost Hills exit being BFE. That was our pit stop whenever we used the I-5 to take my daughter to and from UC Santa Cruz. Definitely not a destination resort area. |

Back in the 70's the local Napa would alway give me "Bug" parts for fixing my Squareback.
Second time they did this crap, I called them up, told them and they delivered the correct parts to me at home.
Damn nice of them. _________________ Good Luck

Autozone pleasantly surprised me when they had in stock.......
Points & condenser
Tie rod ends
Alternator
I just wonder what else I can find there when I need it? _________________ I'm not losing my hair, it's just retired and relocating further south.

^What he said^... They will end up giving him a company recognized "extra mile award", and I think a gift certificate of his choice if I remember correctly. _________________ - Marc M.

...Or he'll probably get fired for not following company policy and leaving during store hours to meet a stranger 60 miles away.

My thoughts exactly. The Boss may want to know how he will recoup the 240 miles of gas money.
