My first bus was a 70 Sportsmobile. I didn't know what it was at the time. I had only seen one other one when I lived in Ca. Since I've lived in Va they seem to keep popping up. I bought a rusted out 71 Sportsmobile last year and am redoing the canvas and will put it the pop up on my 69 which already has the camper interior that I installed. Who else has Sportsmobiles out there? What year, where you located and how do you like them? I love mine. I think they beat having a 68-73 Westy hands down. That overhead cot is worthless.
Here is my first one- RIP. https://www.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/82908.jpg _________________ Why buy what you can build.

My first bus ever was a 74 Sportsmobile, which I loved. It had a Westy interior with the full pop top. Finding a full Sportsmobile with the full interior is hard. I've only seen a picture of one on the net. You're right, I'd rather have the full bed up top then those cots. They are worthless and you have so much more room inside the Sporty. Sadly I sold it to buy a 66 panel a few years ago, but would love to find one again. |

Hey Jeremy, was that one of the stunt vehicles in the "Mad Max" movies? _________________ Some people are so busy being clever they don't have time enough to be wise. |

Yeah Mel Gibson signed my doghouse. Custom make rack that held 4 bikes. It looked like a reindeer with bikes for antlers. _________________ Why buy what you can build.
