Everyone knows the front tin is useless on a Chevy. _________________ 69 Fastback Build

Other than aesthetics. It is functionally useless in my opinion. I think it restricting the volume of fresh cool air available to my DCNF carburetors. You know for every 10 degrees you reduce the temperature of the intake air you gain 1 hp. and its true than 100 degrees F. are worth 10 Horsepower.
I reckon I just might test this squareback carb temps with an ir meter both with and with out that there front tin. _________________ Josh Smith

You do know there's a cold air intake for carbs built right into the body... right? _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.

So are you going to "ir" the carb temps or the air going into the carbs? Im a little confused as to what your going to read the temperature off of.
Why don't you tell us a little about your motor. How fast have you had it and how much faster do you think it will go with you removing the tin that is there for looks? Pictures? |

I don't know about that... it may be preventing heat from the heater boxes from getting into the engine compartment in your non-stock situation.
1hp gain for every 10 degrees story:
This one time I was driving at the South Pole and it was -80F and my bone-stock 1500cc Squareback had almost 200hp. I had started to slip into a crevasse and was able to power out of it. _________________ How to Post Photos

I'd say you'd increase power until your carby ices up... _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.
