Quebec Hydro or do you have a wood stove in there?

Ha ha, today daytime it will be -22C (-7.5F), nothing would heat my shop at 30 feet high even with 2 fans.

A radiant tube heater would be your best bet for a high ceiling shop.

Part of an e-mail sent to my (very nice) customer.

The more I dig the worse it is.

Top rail (each side) also have fire damage (see picture), that I can fix but they will have to be remove, they are also full of hard glue, I have to sand them to bare metal also.
The sealing (top bed) in the back is also finish (it was covered with a tin wood plank). I mean I will have to dissemble the whole van (mostly rear). All T style moulding are gone everywhere in the van

I really didn't expect that... I mean in total it's gonna be a good week (even more) of work just because of the fire damage.

A colour swap is normally done this way:
http://www.benplace.com/ron1.htm
http://www.benplace.com/87_syncro1.htm

Now, the way things are going it's gonna be a job like I did on my own red van... and that was 2.5 months of hard work 50-60 hours a week.

note:
-No battery in the van and no wire for this one. I gave 12V to the fuse box to see if thing work and that look ok.
-All electrical wire in the back are burned or absent, not only for the engine but for any rear electric component (defrost, light...)
-The rear tail light are fake one with no electrical part.
-Seat belt are burned of missing (rear)

That mean that all the rear electrical wire will have to be made by hand.
I need to find a junk place that I could steel the wiring harness.

I would need a very large deposit to start working on a can of worms like that.

Ben,

Perhaps you might consider hiring/expoliting a young helper / apprentice to handle the joyous paint scraping and prep work, and focus your talents on engine wizardry. It may well make more economic sense, as well as not driving you nucking futs, to go with your strengths.

Follow the "Link" above:

This 3M puck will remove about anything sticky. In this vid I'm prepping a fibreglass pop top from a VW camper van. For sanding I'm using 3M Scotch-Brite # 37447 with water (less dust)

Ben
I think that I have the harness and connectors for the
rear tail lights. It's yours if you want it. I could send
out on Monday if it would help.
