Syncrofest is ~100 vans wheeling around and hanging out, it is hard to beat the VW community feeling.
Northwest Mogfest in Oregon would be a second but VWs aren't the main attraction we are just invited along. |

Here's a little SyncroFest update.
I've been talking to the boys at GoWesty and while they really enjoy coming to SF and giving away cool t-shirts for free or at least for answering a vanagon related question this year they are going to make you work a little harder for it. If you want to sport the t-shirt you will have to pilot a van over the famous frame flex ramps! Need so guidance? No problem, they will spot you. What's that you don't own a syncro? No problem, they have one you can drive. Anyone can do it!
Also we'll have the always awsome saturday night beer tasting contest at the Buslab camp. 'nuf said.
New for this year Stephan's autohaus will be hosting a horseshoe game with syncro upper control arms. Paint up your old control arms and bring them out. I've alse heard rumors of some drinks and BBQ beef brisket sampling.
We're also looking forward to some great driving events put together by Eric, Josh and others as well as some in camp driving events by Kirk and the folks from NorthWesty. _________________ Please do not message me on TheSamba. Use my email, |

Yes it's going to be the biggest vanagon event in the US for sure. Last year we had over 110 vans show up.
At some point we may have to limit the size of the event as the venue and the organizers can only handle so much but we're not going to worry about that now. We'll see what happens this year and then decide what to do. We sure would hate to turn anyone away.
On a different note I've also been informed that Shaun has been busy expanding his monopoly in free carnival food. Somewhere along the line he picked up a snowcone machine. He'll be bringing that in addition to the popcorn and hotdog machines he had going last year. All you need now Shaun is cotton candy _________________ Please do not message me on TheSamba. In a few years after upgrading to a nachos machine, slurpee machine(with and without booze) he can move up to the chocolate waterfall like golden corral!

We've got some new sponsors to announce.
First off we are very lucky to have the support of Westy Werks in San luis Obispo. They are a full service vanagon repair and restoration shop on the central coast. Westy Werks has stepped up with a big donation to help us put on a great event this year. I look forward to hanging out with the Westy Werks guys in a month. http://www.westy-werks.com/index.html
We also just recieved a box of goodies from Gunzl http://www.vwbusshop.de/ Gunzl hooked us up! We have a nice set of T3 dishware, A westy top seal that has the formed corners (NOS ?), a set of european carat headrest inserts, front window vent inserts, window insulation, and lots of other cool items. Gunzl want all the folks on this side of the pond to know that he will be happy to ship orders here. The shipping is affordable and Gunzl has lots of great stuff available. Thanks Gunzl!
