Last one I played with was 7/16-20, but every mfg. has something different. Put up a make and model of the shock in question (Actual details are good), then you might have better luck.

Just a 1/2" fitting isn't going to work.

You are going to have to machine the Monroe shocks with a 3/8" bung and fitting to 1/2".

I believe Airkewld used to sell some already modified...

Go to your local hydraulic hose and fitting store. Ask for a female #4 ORB x something...what ever they have. Most likely it will be male pipe thread, maybe 1/8"? Are you running 1/2
tubing? Get a Parker 66PL-8-4 if the fitting ends up being 1/4"MP, or a 66PL-8-2 if it's 1/8" MP....if that 8-2 exists. It's an oddball for sure. If the PL (Presto-lock) fittings isn't available, you can ask for a PMT series, which is just the DOT air brake version. Get a thread pitch gauge on that fitting so you know for sure what you actually have. If you don't have access to one, the hyd. shops should have one you can use if they're worth their salt. The combo of these two fittings should get you there. If not, you'll have to make one.

I'm running 3/8 lines and these are the fittings I used along with a 90* with 1/4 NPT on one end and the 3/8 push to connect on the other.

Something like this would look a lot cleaner and I might switch over at some point.

The shock fitting isn't flared but it fits nicely and seals good.

So it probably has an inverted type chamfer, set up for a compression style ferrule. It ain't right, but apparently you're making it work.

I think you're right, the shock fitting has an inverted chamfer for an o-ring to fit in. The fittings that come with the shocks have a compression like nut that compresses a little 1/8 tube between an o-ring.

Ehh no. Are you going to seal it bff cramming two metal surfaces together? Jic flare and Compression chamfer are not compatible to seal.

False. This is not Typical compression fitting. No hardware store will carry what you need.
