This is my dads buggy in 1972, built in Wolcott, Vermont. The second picture is me in the passenger seat at 5 years old, and me in my current project a 1970 Buggy, 44 years later.

I'd like to indulge in some radiocarbon photo dating before the poster of that pic chimes in:
Black and gold CA plates, Corvair(?)engine, hairstyle and swimsuit on the model, style of tread on the tires, I'm going with about 1970. If that lovely girl was in her early-mid 20s she may be closing in on 70 now.
Great pic, would love to know more about it. |

That looks like Priscilla Presley's hair style, I'd say 1968 |

I've since ditched the wing mirrors and have bought a set of stainless headlamps, so it will be looking more retro soon. Also awaiting a set of Beetle hubcaps. High back seats are 70s Datsun 100a, Have little chrome venting eyelets on the seat inserts. |

Cammie- that looks awesome. I'm sure the hubcaps will be a nice touch, but I love the way your wheels look now hubcapless... nice thing is you can pull them off or put them on at will. How wide are the rears? How about a couple interior shots?? |

Aaw shucks Roscoe. Its been a bit of a budget rebuild. The original owner built it well, but it had an awful lot of ugly fitted to it. Big rectangular rear lights, extra mudguards....
Tyres
Rear: Maxxis MA 1 225/75 R15 102S and 2x Maxxis MA 510N 165/80 R15 87T up front.
Stainless headlights still to be fitted and I want a big purple daisy on the bonnet |

Looks good with the type III gauges... yeah I like those wheels. Roll bar looks sturdy also. It's got a nice vintage look overall. The headlights will totally be an improvement👍🏼 |

Roll bar is nicely upholstered and sturdy. . At he back its only attached to the body though So its a typical mouse trap. I hope to find someone who can fabricate a sort of engine cage that will bolt to it and the floorpan somehow. Here's an "as found"photo. As I said well built but with a lot of ugly fitted:
