Built these today. Very Happy

Used 1/4" pipe which in no way measures 1/4" anywhere, slightly larger than 1/2" outer diameter, with thicker wall thickness than tube.

Will be adding woodslats to the rack (same wood as truck slats)

I think I will redo another ladder so it goes right up to the rack and maybe folds Confused

Thanks to Jeremy Hoggard for the clamps. Wink

That's what I was thinking. Would be better if the legs were shorter.

You made that in one day?

Tough crowd. Looks fine to me. I'd probably run a diaganol bar across the clamp support to the upper frame for rigidity.

The load floor of the rack misses the roof by 1/2" if i made the legs shorter it would hit the roof. It no taller than a bekowa

I did ponder that for a while, but a straight diagonal looked horrible IMO, and a curved one just tucked up in the corner, its stiff as it is, I dont even think it needs 4 clampsm the last one I did only had 2 and that was fine.

Will be down at OCTO with it if you want a wiggle and a shake John. Wink

Looks great, Im going to have to try something like this.

The only reason it appears tall is it is sitting back at the lower slope of the roof and at the back it gives the perspective of being tall, move it up ahead a bit and it wouldn't appear that way.

Yeah, your 1/4" schedule pipe is probably twice the wall thickness of tubing usually used for racks so the bracing would be a waste. Did you have to heat the pipe to bend it? That stuff must be a bear to bend cold.

Not going to OCTO. Will you be at Red Barn/Kelley Park?

Was not to hard to bend just had to lean in to it, but did not need the bender bar extension, i guess the next size up would have cause problems,

I did not know the difference between tube and pipe till now! I just get the stuff from a local fab shop that does local farm machines, seems they dont do tube.

(not at kelly /redbarn Sad )
