i'm having trouble finding the plastic inners for a 1981 rabbit. i have a 1983 cabriolet with the liners that i don't want to sacrifice to the 'corrosion-gods'. [the last C/L seller wanted $100, plus labor to remove them! that seemed a bit $$$$high, as i don't have this project ready for the road'] does anyone have advice or suggestions?

I don't think all the US made cars came with them. You might have to find a cabriolet in the scrap yard. _________________ I will never lie, but sometimes the truth changes.

I don't think they were available until 83 in Rabbits. Might have to look at 83 and 84 GTIs for the liners. They all came with them.

UPDATE....’life-got-in-the-way’ BUT I ‘found/bought/installed’ plastic fender inner-liners! Installation was a nightmare! Fitting the liners under then LX wheel-opening alloy trim took some effort! The project is done and in my ‘rear view mirror! I would say it was difficult but doable
