Does anyone know if there's a difference between a 14 or 16 Syncro CV Joint?

Brickwerks shows a specific 16" Syncro CV: https://www.brickwerks.co.uk/t3-parts/t3-syncro/dr...-rear.html

I was looking at T3Technique: https://t3technique.com/products/944-gkn-lobro-cv-joint-kit?_pos=3&_sid=bed6eaa58&_ss=r

108mm diameter(16) and 100mm diameter(14)

Are you asking about the Rear CV Joints or the Front Outer CV? The Rears are as stated above -108mm.
The Front Inner CV is 100mm same as on the 14".

Haven't posted here in awhile but have been loving the doka. Had some engine issues and replaced a bunch of stuff, now it's working like a charm! This summer will be some rust mitigation, mostly in the seams, and hopefully adding a magic 4th door. Been using for local trips, hauling dirty stuff work, and then hauling my wife's artwork because it's the only rig we have that will take a 5 foot x five foot painting with care and protection! Love this thing.

Stupid question: this means that the original syncro 16" lug nuts are the same as the 14"?

Nice model but I've never seen a true 16" with side cladding!
Missing the stock Syncro tailpipe, Steyr-Puch badges, there's no locker knobs on the dash, incorrect fender flares, chrome window vents on rear quarters? (but that would be the model builder's fault).
Although it does seem to have the correct 15 hole rims!

It looks like a lifted Carat with Syncro fuel port and decals. Wink
Still it's cool they thought to brand a model as a rare 16".

this creased Gold van is a 14
....that hit it's engine support bar hard on the ground.

16 Question: Do the body reinforcements prevent the "fender crease" ?
Or does it just withstand a harder hit?

I have seen a picture of a 16" (?) with the crease, so I suppose it depends on the "hit".
The reinforcement was/is supposed to help but somewhere there's a post about this problem being deeper. Remember anything can be broke! Laughing
More info about this in the "crease" thread.

That's true about the side cladding. They do not have a Vanagon model so shoddy work of the modeller.

I rebuilt the rear axels on my DoKa 16. I can't seem to find the rear 108mm seals that fit between the CV and the axle flange, I only see the 100mm seals. Anybody know where I can find the?
Thanks
Tony

Its the same size and CV as an Audi 5000 turbo quattro front inner, also a 1987 BMW 535 CV is the same.

Here's a couple links to gaskets that are here state side

I have seen other people do that. As far as I know it worked good without problem.
If there is anyone out there that has had a bad experience with this method please share with us.

Wow FCP wants $20 each for a gasket. I still can't believe this to be true.
It has helped to get a hold of a p/n though,

Thanks

$20 and look to be made out of cork. I wonder if they would blow out when the cv bolt is properly torqued down ? Imho a paper gasket is a lot better

If memory serves me I used the cork gasket when I repacked the CVs and they worked fine.

It looks like the cork gasket is the only option.
Another issue I have now is the flex hose that goes from the clutch slave cylinder to the chassis. The original hose is a bit longer I figure out because of the longer trailing arms on the Syncro 16. It took me a long time to figure this out. I ordered a hose and it's shorter assuming that its for the 14 Syncro. Does anyone know this to be true? I cannot seem to be able to locate a longer hose. It seems like it doesn't exist.
Thanks
