Does anyone know where to buy a new water tank for a 1976 Westy
Or anywhere to have a new one made
Also i have searched the gallery and the forum and the only one that looks like it would work looks like a L shaped tank is that correct

Not sure if they are being made new but I see a couple on the classifieds. Shipping may be an issue though. _________________ 1969 Beetle

Need a really good mechanic for your VW bus? Consider making an appointment with Colin (Amskeptic) next time he passes thru your area. |

Yes, the L-shaped one is correct. There were two for sale recently in the classifieds, both of which are sold now (one to me). Price was between $25-40 and about $20-25 to ship. My original has a thin crack across part of the face which happened when I tried to take the tank out of the cabinet and stupidly tapped on the face with my fist. (It is otherwise in good condition - not brittle). There are threads here that discuss crack repair, and I would have considered fixing it but am short on time lately. If you're interested, PM me with your email address and I'll send you photos. |

Yes, they're the same 76-79, and L-shaped. |

I know it’s a decade ago now, but do you have any more specifics on what you bought and made work? |
