| It scared people back then and it still does today. But it did make top 40 and has been described as death metal 70s. What is the purpose of art if doesn’t elicit emotion ? Obviously you were moved. My older brother played this on vinyl and I too remember thinking it was different from most everything else at the time. |

I remember a buddy of mine- neighbor kid- bought that Bloodrock album when it came out. Gave me nightmares. Guess that was the actual birth of "death metal".

| almost everything is a car song......well...I reckon there are some that I dont listen to that may not be. but most are. weather they are about a red car , highway star, red dirt road or a hoe in the road. it's all in how your brain translates it. we all dont hear the same thing...Ive always had good tunes in all my cars. |

Personally I enjoy many genre of music, but was always extremely disappointed that classical just never worked in my bus while driving.

I remember the lead singer talking about how much he hated that song. He said after that song was released, he got sick and tired of being asked to judge cherry pie contests.
