the piston sleeves are made from what material? are they coated with tungsten or titanium or something else? where can i get some new ones?

Those cast iron sleeves are really pretty good..unless the WBX engine has been run low of oil or coolant..the sleeves don't wear much. I have disassembled WBX engines that were abused and the cast iron sleeves still had the original cross hatch from VW in the bores with no real wear at all.
Where to buy the sleeves? I don't know..they usually come with the piston sets (P+C)..check with 10c or Rock Jennings and the classifieds here on the Samba..there may be some good OEM sleeves around. |
