Back in October I spent 8 days on Vancouver Island with my wife and our dog. We drove around as much of the island as we could. From Victoria to Port Hardy and west coast to east coast. It was a great trip, the crowds had departed for the year and it felt like having the place to ourselves. Tofino is beautiful and amazing. My favorite drive was the dirt road from Woss to Gold River and out to Cougar Creek campground. This was a good day of driving with very little asphalt and once we arrived at the campground we were the only people there, even the host was gone. It was truly special to have this wonderful spot on Nootka Sound for just us. My van handled everything like a champ. The only problem was a broken hose clamp at the output of the gas tank. A little fuel spilled and a 2 minute repair and we were good to go.
Disclaimer, I've been a photographer for years but this is my first dabble in video. I bought a gopro for the trip and all in all it was a lot of fun, and also a learning experience. The compression to youtube is a little frustrating but you still get a good idea of the beauty of this area. It came out at almost 20 min but I really wanted to document all aspects of our trip for us and anyone else looking to head up there. Take a look and I hope you enjoy it.

Jimeg, it's awesome. I want to go back when I finish the syncro. Soooooo many side dirt roads that were calling my name. You could explore for days out there without touching asphalt. _________________ '88 SCA High/Pop-top Syncro camper

Very nice. We honeymooned in Strathcona Park many moons ago.
