Drum front brakes clicking under braking load - solved

The last few days I've had a clicking coming from my front right wheel area under braking after the drums had warmed up. It started with one click per wheel rotation, but today it became two clicks per rotation. Because noises getting worse often mean impending failure, I ripped into the front right drum/wheel bearing assembly. I found light scraping on the backing plate in two spots, where the drum was rubbing. The black paint was scraped down to the primer, but no further. Good paint, I guess- thanks aeromech! I did check the wheel bearing play to be on the loose side of acceptable before I took it apart, and I reassembled it on the snug side of acceptable. I guess I wasn't as thorough last month when I reassembled everything with new grease after new ball joints went in. The clicking noise is gone, even under the hardest braking at the end of a long drive around town. So let this be a lesson- be more careful with front wheel bearing adjustment. I'm not sure if disc brakes would have this same issue, but I imagine they would. Check your work, and enjoy the drive. Cool
