(I'm a Bostig newby group 21) Has anyone had issues with a flat spot in acceleration? Mine drops in power at about 3700ish and comes back at 4000. It's not a huge issue but I was just curious if anyone else is having the issue, I've created a ticket already. Mine's also idling at 2000 rpm at cold start for about one minute then it settles at 950 or so. I included that on the ticket too.

Give Bostig a call (as is always the case with things like this) as they may have some things to look into.
I had a bit of a flat spot, and i've dramatically improved it, though I don't remember exactly what I had to fix....

In part it deal with your gearing/tire size in my opinion, at least in the lower RPM registers. Your well into the range where you should have some power though.

I don't have this issue, not sure why... Though I did upgrade to 16" wheels and Nokian tires. That and Darrel put a taller 3rd gear in my Tranny... Maybe that's all it takes? Smile

I put a taller 3rd in my transaxle with a Bostig, my mind doesn't really wrap around where your flat-spot is.. but I wish I didn't change the gearing, it kind of sucks shifting from 2nd to 3rd (but I really like the new top-range of 3rd for mountain passes). But that would certainly be a poor performance area IMHO.

Sychrodan & Shizzon-

My problem is a bit different with my group 19. I have smooth power to about 4000 rpm, then start to lose power. I can't push through it. Feels like the governors they used to put on rental trucks. Idle is very smooth at about 900.

This is OK most of the time, because my shift points and cruising speeds are below 4K. The problem is on a steep hill (e.g. Halloran Pass on I-15) when 4th gear is too high, and I cant exceed 4K rpm in 3rd. If you lose momentum, you're stuck in 3rd at around 40mph until you crest the hill.

I also have a support ticket in to Jim at Bostig (Just changed out the coil to no effect).

Your problem may be related to mine. I'd like to know what the fix ends up being. When I get mine fixed, I'll also post here.

Jed
