i suffered a broken accelerator cable in my 87 syncro while camping this weekend. i'm trying to get two new ones - cables not syncros - and i'm having a bit of a problem. van cafe lists the part number as 251.721.555Q. bus depot lists the part number as 251.721.555P.
bus depot says that 251.721.555Q is for a 83-85 1900cc. van cafe doesn't list anything under 251.721.555P.
does anyone have a definitive answer?

I got mine from Vancafe but haven't installed it yet but I trust them more than anyone else out there. My.02

Gowesty shows the 251.721.555Q code cable as a M/T 83-91 water cooled vanagon with no distinction between 4 or 2 wheel drive. Not for the diesel is the only exception.

| The 80-83 air cooled engines probably take a different cable than the later 83-91 watercooled, though it's possible that one or the other might well work for both. No real clue. |
