Those dash tools are not looking tools. They be demolition tools!
Car is looking better and better guys. Great work! _________________ I think he meant "rare", as in "not well-done" |

Thanks again Eyetzr.
The rear inner fenders had 4 layers of paint. You can see how much welding to make them the shape they are.

At least 4 layers of beige on roof. Sander pad gone, buff pad rotten, only one size paper. Now left hand cramps. 102 degrees outside. Must sit down and draw.

I used a 56 outer column for mine. But the carbon brush holder had broken off and was lost.I knocked out the top plastic bush and replaced it with a needle roller,so I can wire the horn like the later ones.I put 2 small cuts into the bottom of the tube and made a tab to take a 1/4inch spade terminal.Column will now be live like later ones.I don't remember the bearing OD size, but it was correct ID and 20mm long.I machined a spigot, bearing OD size and heated the column at the bearing location.I had to be gentle because my column had been chromed.Tapped the spigot in and left it there to cool.Knocked it out and bearing was a nice firm fit.Good work going on there.

That looks sweet. Ours is still being thought about. Yours looks mechanically sound. |
