I just cleaned up my wiring for my aux. battery, inverter, solar, and my charger. It's a Amateur job. I got some good inspiration from others from this forum. I was wondering if we can post some pictures of our wiring job. thanks

Where do the 2 100A fuses go? Do you have a 2000W inverter or massive stereo or something? I have the GoWesty kit with a 50A circuit breaker on the isolation relay between the two batteries, but I don't have any circuit in my aux fuse panel bigger than 30A being fed by the aux battery, and that's the one going to the dash for the stereo, lighter, and other accessories.
Sorry, no pics yet since it's still a work-in-progress, but I have other branch circuits off the fuse panel as follows:
- 15A refrigerator
- 20A subwoofer (rarely used when engine isn't running)
- 2.5A media server (Seagate Dockstar)
- 10A solar panel charger
- next project is to add a 20A external 12V outlet (with switch inside)
I have a 400W inverter for emergency use only and the occasional tailgating, never used for regular camping. I just clamp it to the battery as needed, might add a 35A fuse and hardwire, but not a priority. _________________ _____________________

One goes to 1500 watt inverter and other is for Aux main battery wire. |

How big is your battery? I'm thinking about a large circuit for my inverter, but I've only used it twice so far... _________________ _____________________

I have two trojan t 105 6 volt golf cart batteries. I used to have the high dollar Odyssey 2150 about 110 ah but the cost was $395 each. I did some research and found the trojan t 105 was best for your buck. $120 each and 225 ah. |

Syncronoid, did you do a build-thread at the time, and have a link to it? The pics are making me quite intrigued _________________ '91 Syncro 16 Reimo Hightop Conversion, eTDI |

I did, but unfortunately, the pictures I posted were not housed on the Samba server and they are no longer in the thread, I will try to re-place them tonight.

Nice installs. It is not easy to make wiring look organized.
My Vitrifrigo runs 24/7 and accumulates a lot of ice on the cold plate.
One time I turned it off to defrost and forgot about it, and when I opened it 15 hours later, water poured out of the door as the catch tray was not sufficient.
I would not want delicate electronics below the fridge for this reason.
Something to keep in mind anyway when using the space below. Where will spills drip? |

I think this is one of the cleanest wiring installs from PDXwesty.

Although PDXWesty thoroughly owns this thread, I'm sharing my cheapo/minimal solution.
There's bits of glue from the original foam insulation under my seat, got sick of scrubbing it all out so some is left.
I have a GW isolator kit and I got the battery cheaper on eBay. I got a six fuse block off Amazon cheap and the ground block from a local Auto Electrical shop.
The switch on the front of the seat base powers the media server sitting right there. It's running Logitech Media Server on a Seagate Dockstar. It has ad-hoc WiFi so I can connect my phone or iPad to it to stream movies or music off the grid. It has a 250 GB hard drive for all my tunes and a few movies.
There's an Anderson connector in the front of the seat base to connect a folding solar panel that I usually set up off the drivers side. Anderson connector is overkill for a 100W panel, but that's what it came with and they are sturdy.
I want to fab a better cover to protect from dust and something getting under there and causing a short. Any ideas? _________________ _____________________
