that pretty much sums it up.
I'm on the hunt for a rear left trailing arm, wheel bearing housing, and the wheel hub,
Since the insurance co. *will not* take care of that, I'll just have to do it.
So, since the fire at my house also claimed my Bentley, I can't check.
Are these 3 items all identical, all the way from 1980 through the 91 ?
I'm guessing they are the same, but just in case there's a difference like there is with the stamped front...... _________________ One of these days I'm gonna settle down,

They're all the same, unless of course you have a rare 16" syncro, those are longer. I'm also pretty sure that the left and right are the same too, they're just flipped over. |

Thanks, Vango!
(Never thought that they might even be reversible), although that probably won't come into play, but you never know.
wait a minute, if you flip em, then the stub that retains the spring would be on the bottom! _________________ One of these days I'm gonna settle down,

Unless you get a VW replacement arm which has stubs on both sides. _________________ '87 faux-Syncro Westy w/ 2.3l GoWesty WBX |

Oh yeah, the divot is there for the spring on both sides but the stub isn't. Best to get the correct side but if you needed to, you could cut the stub off and weld it back on the other side. |

Yeah you can get one of those for $900+ shipping each from the fatherland and lop off the unused spring nub or just get the correct side stateside.
Tough decision eh? |

The length and/or thickness of the spacer in the wheel bearing housing changed around '85, didn't it?
