-58 license plate light lens

Does anyone have a picture they could show me of a 56(?)-58 decklid with the license plate light lens intact. I have seen pics of the lens put on from the inside and some from the outside. which is correct?

Inside is correct for the non-flat lid.

on the brakelight lid it should be on the inside.

on the flat lid, it should be on the outside.

unfortunately I don't have any detail shots of that on my bus. the lens and the the screws that hold it on are unique to the flat lid. there is also a seal between the lens and the lid. I have been unable to find any parts list that has this seal listed, but there is a missing parts number in the lists that I assume is it. 211 943 131a. to my knowledge the lens has never been off of my '57 standard and the seal is in bad condition. my bus is about the most original nicest flat lid bus I have ever seen. did anyone get any detail pictures of that area at the kelley park show last year? I can get a picture, but it will be a couple weeks.

alright, more hard to find parts. I do have the flat lid and I have been slowly collecting parts for it, but now a unique lens and screws. Even if it is a couple of weeks please do send me a pick of your flat lid. your bus sound really nice, original is the way I like them.

I am having a hard time finding this license plate light lens for my January 57 bus. Does anyone have a source?

Likely the closest you're going to find. The logo style and location might not be right on but that's all I know to be out there.

That is wrong for a flat decklid Bus but Yes, it may be the only one available and "close enough" for now

I’m assuming the seal part number has been posted before but just wanted to verify that Lind was correct earlier in this thread. The seal is long gone but left the part number in a repaint which I thought looked pretty neat.
