We have the app for the doom and gloom day of the van breaking down (Vanagon Rescue Squad). How about an app where people can share cool spots to camp overnight?

It would be cool to have it setup like a map and people can both use and share great areas to stay overnight that are off the beaten path, or even a cool campground! I'd work on developing this myself, but unfortunately I don't have the time, or experience.

Would love to hear some thoughts.

Scott

.
Yeaaaa, Great Idea Scott Shocked
Heck this is something usable for all.. Maybe another option could be to show other Vanagon owners where the VW crowds are currently Camping or have camped, kind of like a Vanagon Cookie trail etc.

Come you Propeller Heads get developing, camping season is here Laughing

allstays is an app for camping spots, mainly campgrounds and rv parks but also lists rest areas, walmarts etc...

Allstays also can be filtered for USFS sites as well as COE etc, so not just RV parks. Great App.

I will have to check out the allstays app. Thanks!

I spend a lot of time on the highway and it would be nice to know which exits to take to find "stealth" camping. A lot of fellow Vanagon owners post pictures on Facebook with some very beautiful places they end up camping at.

Rest areas, Wal-Mart parking lots, and busy campgrounds are on the bottom of my list to crash at. I'd love to be cruising along and when I'm done for the day, pull up an app that could potentially show me a cool place to camp by a river, overlook, or lake overnight.
