Hi all! I'm 17 & I'm the proud owner of a 1973 1303S by the name of Bertie! I bought him for £900 & spent an extra £500 to complete all the work I wanted to get done ready for when I pass my driving test. Check out my website for more information and to see what work I did on him: www.freewebs.com/carlscoolbeetles3 Here's some pic of Bertie! _________________ don't forget to flash & wave! ( . )( . )

No road tax for autos. Huge interstate highway system and it's paid for through our income taxes, whether we use it or not. Truckers, though, have to pay big time road taxes.
Lots of other countries tax cars based on their engine size, I suppose because anything beyond a certain minimum size is just overkill. If we did that here there'd be no Hummers, no gas guzzlers, no SUV's except for the very rich. But it's too late to try that now. The people would stage a revolution. _________________ Central Jersey VW Society

i'm not sure where the name came from, i had plans to call my first beetle 'chuggy' but the previous owner named him 'bertie' so he kept that name!
thanks for the information 79SuperVert, i would love to see someone try to keep one of those big pick-ups in this country with the price of petrol & everything! _________________ don't forget to flash & wave! ( . )( . ) |

Living in a dry climate like I do kind of spoils you when it comes to doing bodywork. That was alot to repair. |

do you think i should loose some of my interior goodies?
i've got a furry steering wheel cover, fluffy dice, a 'mini-bertie' stuck on the dash, union jack towel throwover for the rear seat, the english flag towel throwover for the passenger seat, i'm looking out for one of those plastic fake arms to stick out of the bonnet, & i'm getting a musical horn fitted tomorrow! _________________ don't forget to flash & wave! thanks the work i've done may seem simple to some, but when i bought bertie i didn't know anything about the mechanical & body repair area of the beetle, i just loved the beetle, so i just learnt as i went along. things didn't go as easy as they appear on my website - bertie gave me a real hard time with things not going as well as i hoped, but all the stress, hard work & money paid off! _________________ don't forget to flash & wave!
