I located a good looking repop ragtop from a company in Brazil. Does anyone have first hand experience with this top?

A friend is running this on his Mk2 Jetta Coupe, it has taken some work and lots of retensioning but hes got it installed to his liking, he only has issues in a major downpour with it leaking a bit. _________________ 1965 VW Beetle Project "SIX5BUG" now Zaney"s Rally Racer

I have one of the original britax kits in my 63.It was in the car when I bought it.I am in want of the vinyl parts now but I want the rag part in hartz cloth either black or tan. As far as the kit goes,it is really as close to original looking as you can get when closed. It is nicely finished on the inside too.Mine does not have the deflector. It slides easy and the handle locks it into position so if you for some reason only want it opened half way you can lock it there. The only leaking I have ever had was at driving speed in a real heavy rain. Not enough to worry about as it very seldom sees rain.I did contact these guys and they were quick with a reply to my questions as to my want.I have pics of it in my gallery. _________________ I love the smell of nitro in the morning.

ffastr6 did you ever purchase a top from these guys? Looks to be better quality than streetbeats. I'm curious now. |

Curious as well... any idea what this costs? I'm assuming they'll sell you everything to install it into a hardtop car, correct? _________________ 67 Beetle Build Thread

Since we're talking sunroofs here, although aftermarket I wanted to ask if anyone had an opinion of what should be a fair price for an original ragtop clip. I use to see them in the 7 to 800 dollar range. Would you pay 1500 for a complete one without rust. To me it seems high but there aren't many opportunities to purchase one in my region. That site in the link doesn't give prices. Does anyone know what these are going for? |

I always thought the old Britax sunroofs were a pretty good product and I was sorry to see they went out of business. This company says that these are the Britax reproduced, and they look like the Britax, never had one personally.
Ive seen the Britax on bugs, they are decent.
No comparison to the other aftermarket ones; Streetbeat. |

I asked this using the contact email form on their site:
I have a 1967 beetle hardtop. How much does the kit cost in US Dollars? Does it include everything to install a ragtop into a car that does not have one? thank you.
My response was this:
Helo
Price 899.00 for complete kit and 99.00 for ship
Paypal add4%. Ok
Tks

So you're looking at a grand but that's all I know. _________________ 67 Beetle Build Thread

Doesn't seem unreasonable if the quality is good. problem is, what are you going to do if it shows up and is crap? I wouldn't touch it without domestic support. |

Any body I have talked to over the years always say an original is the best, aftermarket kits suck. _________________ Rick

I think thats the new model of the streetbeats, the fiberglass insert can be installed from underneath for a better look. |
