I've searched and I'm certain it's the servo, but I thought I would post this just to get confirmation and share this problem if others have it. My brakes work perfectly all the time except above an ambient temperature of 90 degrees. I have replaced every single component on the system except the proportioning valve and the servo. I have cleaned and greased the brake pedal pivot and put a new return spring in. When it gets above the said temperature the brake pedal will not return and I have to pull it up with my toe. Cool or freezing weather everything is great, but above 90 the problem is persistent and quite annoying. Thoughts? _________________ air-cooled or nothing for me

Try disconnecting the servo hose from the plenum (cap the nipple on the engine) and see if it still does it, beware!, the brakes will require more effort to stop but if it cures the problem a booster rebuild is in your future.
How much freeplay is in the pedal pushrod? _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

I suppose that is the ultimate test. This has been a persistent problem as the PO had a crappy hose clamp/hardware store spring solution set up on it. I will try that tomorrow and report in. Edit: The temperature tomorrow is not forecast to be high enough so I'll have to wait until it gets hot. In Saint Louis that can happen in one day though. _________________ air-cooled or nothing for me
