Maybe it was Kiss that killed it? They are f'n horrible.
I saw the Avett Brothers back in August and Lake Street Dive opened. They were both GREAT.

I cannot believe the last post in here is from April. Is everyone staying home this summer?
Just got home from seeing Lake Street Dive at our little local music festival. Outdoor venue, beer tasting night, and a couple thousand folks enjoying the show. A nice evening for a bike ride back to the homestead.
A very good concert. I came to hear her voice, and was not disappointed. I found seats directly behind the soundboard, a couple rows up in the grandstand. Perfect for listening. A few times the sound got really brassy, but mostly it was excellent.

Never liked Kiss. Not sure why folks go gaga over their stuff.
Avett Brothers and Lake Street Dive were touring together, and trading headlining different venues. They played separate nights here. My girls went to Avett Brothers the next night and said they were great. _________________ nothing |

My wife won some tickets to Elton John who we saw last night, I've never been a super fan, but I don't mind his music either. Interesting show, I guess there's not a lot you can do to make geriatric piano player and a band that looks like the guys in Depends and denture cream ad's exciting. They all stuck it out for 2.5 hours and covered most of his hits, it was fun to see them live after all these years of hearing them on the radio, but I'm glad I didn't cough up the $400+ those seats would have cost to buy.
There were a few rabid super fans seated nearby that likely disagreed with me though, looked like they were having the time of their lives. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

Friday the 13th I went to a Zeppelin USA show. That was pretty cool. Oddly enough I also went and paid for my wife and my cremation on Friday the 13th. _________________ If you can't dazzle them with your brilliance, baffle them with your bullsh*t.

Saw the Who last Saturday night.
Last night I saw the Lords of 52nd Street, which have 3 original members (Richie Cannata, Liberty DeVitto and Russell Javors) of the Billy Joel band at the local park for a free concert. _________________ Glenn

Had some time to kill and passes at will call for the Dropkick Murphys/Clutch show last night. We got there after doors and Hatebreed was finishing up so we headed side stage for Clutch. Made our way to the dressing room for aftershow festavities for a short time. It was a good night.

Good to hear. I have watched a few youtube clips and it seems like they are playing really tight, and having some fun. I saw them about five years ago, and though it was good, they almost seemed to be "just doing a job". I did get to go backstage that night and meet the guys. So that was fun. _________________ nothing |

lucky bastard , they were very tight, it was almost overstimulating with all the lights, lasers, and great music, they played for over 2 hours!! never knew two hours could feel like 10 minutes _________________ 63 restomod build

We saw Jackson Browne at a casino last night. The old man still puts on a good show. Looked around, mostly an older crowd . No drunkenness or episodes, nobody got hurt. Nobody was smoking weed and I thought of a time November 1976 election night I was at his concert. We were both younger then. In 76 there were clouds of smoke. |

I went and saw Dead and Company in SF on 12/30. I haven't seen the Grateful dead '95 and have been skeptical of the few reincarnations of them since Jerry died.
It was great even with the crappy acoustics at Chase Center. I have a new found respect for John Mayer and everyone in that band is really great. _________________ Your Vanagon sucks, Stop waving at me.

Amanda Palmer at Bard
Great music, writing, performance. Her clothes are pretty too, says the Daily Mail.
If you are a Drumpf dickhead, you won’t be comfortable there
Her cover of Creep by RadioHead is awesome _________________ .ssS! |

I had heard that name, but could not place the music, so I am listening to her performance on KEXP from this past September.
Stunning performance. I like her style. Gonna show this to my 14 year old daughter in the morning. She loves dynamic performers.
I don't hold a sign for the Cheeto in Chief, but I am not sure what one's political leanings have to do with attending a great live performance. _________________ nothing |

Everything, actually. The 80's punk movement comes to mind. So does U2, Dixie Chicks, The Nuge, Kanye, Green Day, The Clash, Springsteen and countless others. Music has always been political in some aspect. Quite a few artists have had issues with each other and administrations or run around waving flags. _________________ Your Vanagon sucks, Stop waving at me.

Think about the music of the 60’s and early 70’s. Everything that was considered “counter culture “ was very politically. _________________ Prosit!

Not my point.
If one only chooses what events to attend based on the political leanings of the artist, too many would have to stay home.
I am betting there have been Democrats rocking along with the Ten Fingers of Doom, and Republicans swaying along with the E Street Band many, many times over the years.
Same could be said for movies I suppose. Do Conservatives avoid all movies with Alec Baldwin? _________________ nothing |
