has ne one seen a after market version of the wind deflectors that were (spring loaded i guess) that you could install in your rag top but once installed you didnt have to remove.....you could fold it down flat when you shut the roof and pop it back up once opened....i have seen the fixed ones but one that you didnt have to remove would be a lot cooler......ive only seen one and it was on ebay a few years ago....i bidded on for like 50 bucks and when i checked back the price was way up....almost positive it was an og german accessory....any one makin these now??

There were a few varieties of original folding deflectors made by Webasto and Perohaus, but the pic above isn't any of those. It looks like a nice, functional homemade version (though I'm not sure I understand how it folds?)

As of the last time this was discussed, no one was repopping the folding style.

and the old ones, when you can find them, are very expensive!

the way they fold is down and towards the front windshield. there is a cutout for the handle so it will lay flat against the roof.

the last time i tried to buy an original folding one, it was gonna cost me $1100!! currently there is no one repopping the folding ones, although the ones that are out work nicely, i love mine.

I know how the original ones work, I was just confused about the one posted in the picture.

i can't tell from the pics. curious to see how they attach. clamped? jammed in there with pressure? wonder how they would hold up at speed.

If you look in the pic of the first ad, you can see how the visor is notched at the ends so is slips around the edge of the ragtop rail and sits in place.

On the second one you can see how the ends are folded over and they slip into place some how.

I bought one of the ones in the first pic. I was surprised just how basic it was. Anybody could reproduce that one. The one I received looked like it was made in a hurry. The notches were poorly cut and edges were jagged.

Sorry, I realized I quoted the wrong statement before. But I'm sure you saw that.
