Like I stated: who on this board picked up your baby at the hospital in your VW?
I did, in my 1970 sedan, in 1988, wanted to drive a car I was familiar with, not Mrs. Cusser's 1982 Firebird. In either, the passenger seat had to be fully forward so that baby seat could fit in backwards like it should.
Funny, it was Snobsdale Arizona, and all the other families had sparkling new mini-vans !!! All in line with my VW.
Oh yes. I played the soundtrack to the Good, the Bad and the Ugly all the way home on my cassette stereo. _________________ 1970 VW (owned since 1972) and 1971 VW Convertible (owned since 1976), second owner of each. John C. Lincoln Hospital, Phoenix, AZ, Jan. 15th, 1994. I picked up my 1 day old son, and my wife in our 1972 Baja. It now belongs to my son. _________________ OK Thang |

The evening of the day after Christmas 1979 my wife went into labor and I rushed to the Hospital in her '73 Beetle. She got sick on the way there and...well you know
Brought her and the first of our three Boys home in it too _________________ -Bruce

I don't lay claim to any babies, but I've taken my Grandmother to hospital, to the emergency entrance, in my '67 ambulance, if that counts?
I insisted.

April 4, 1971 to Baylor hospital and back home on the 6th with our first daughter in a 1970 red VW that I bought a month before for $1100 with 30,000 miles on it. Our only car. It was a good one.

Well did not pick my daughter in the bug....but early the previous day the wife and I were driving on east Bell Rd. Well I hit a pot hole and my wife said OOHHH. That made her water break. _________________ Volkswagen: We tune what we drive.

Oh man, this brings back fond memories. I was stationed in Germany and brought the wife over from the states. We had a '56 Ford Crown Victoria and traded for a '64 Square Back. Our first born was brought home in the SB in April of 1964.
She was born at Wiesbaden Air Force Hospital. Wow, the years really pass fast when you are having fun.

Reported or not, I think you'd be astounded at the number of people in existence today as a result of dates-gone-well in acVWs... _________________ the3rdrock.com - …musings, discoveries and postulating, by a restless itinerant in search of enlightenment.

I brought my first daughter home in 2000 in my '82 Rabbit and my second daughter home in my '85 Jetta in 2002 along with 2 of my nephews in 1998. A third nephew was nearly born on the passenger's seat of my '95 Golf in 2010. _________________ 1985 Diesel Jetta Coupe (temporarily retired at

I've had a fair share of dates gone well in my beetles. If there's wheels there's a way.
I also recall VW of America had a college fund for children who's birthplace is listed as in a VW. I read about it in Hot vw's a while back. They had stats of how many children were born in VWs. _________________ this space for rent. |
