I am sure this topic has been beat to death, but I can't find an answer. I recently took my original Bosch 6 volt generator off of my 1961 1200cc to put new brushes in and clean it all up. I was an idiot and got in a hurry taking the wiring off and didn't pay attention. I pulled the brushes out and knew that the red wire came out through the larger opening and connected to the voltage regulator. I realize that 2 wires were supposed to exit out through the circular hole, but I had one that was attached internally in the generator exiting the hole which is still in place and I had a 2 inch white wire with flat ends fall on the ground. Where does this connect on the generator? I am assuming that the one flat end on the white wire connects with the wire that is still attatched to the voltage regulator through the round hole, but where does the other end of the white wire connect to on the generator??

Just to update, I have a local VW shop around my home and the owner had a spare 6V generator complete. It was hard to see, but looks like the 3rd wire I was talking about hooks to the left side brush, runs up through the round hole with the other wire and connects to the right connection of the voltage regulator just incase if anyone was wondering.
