Haven't seen any mention of this. "World Fusca Day". If it's worldwide, then it should extend to Beetles everywhere, I would think. It's tomorrow (June 22).

I remember when VWT was still in biz and they would publish photos of readers with their cars & job description in a later issue for Drive you VW to Work Day - 6/22. I always wondered how it came about, now I know. Thanks for posting. |

This Saturday, June 22nd, is the Worldwide Day of the Beetle.
79 years ago on June 22nd 1934 the contract was signed to start development of the Volkswagen Beetle. This is the day that started it for all of us. Wether you have a Beetle, Bus, Karmann Ghia, Squareback, Fastback, Notchback, Thing, 411/412 or any of the other variations of air-cooled Volkswagens, this is your day!
Some folks down in Brazil in the 90's set about to designate a special day for Volkswagens. They worked with the folks from the Volkswagen Museum and made an official declaration and at Bad Camberg in '95 they made it official. So celebrate this special day and take your dub out, give her a wash, take her out for a drive and spend a little quality time this weekend.
