|
|
Saw this on one of the boards and decided to enlist the services of my Danish Cousin Rasmus (rass-moose) to help with the bidding. My Mother was willing to help with the logistics if the bid were to be successful. BenT's Syncro 16"Doka with the Airport graphics has been giving me nightmares..........
My Mom finally "gets it" after her trip to Buses by the Bridge this year.
She also thought if purchased at the right price, this could be a good little family project. Alas, it was not meant to be.......

For the purposes of posterity, I thought that I would share this gem here.
The one thing that I can say for certain, after the trip I took my Mom to this year, Buses by the Bridge, she has a new respect for my habit. This is good news should Mystaboo ever wish to off her Syncro16'JokerWestfalia

what a smoking deal. Perhaps someone from Danmark could enlighten me....I missed the Greenland part, my Mom caught it, and still got my Cousin involved I was thinking the bidding was in Euros and I was working nights, so, just had my Mom dealing with it. Dammit!~
Hoping it is someone on here so we can see some more pictures of this no miles gem.
Can you imagine the fun this would've been at NWMF _________________ Happiness=Portland, Oregon in the rearview mirror! |

Wow! There is so much awesome in this van. For that price I would have bought it, flown to Greenland, I've always wanted to go there, and done some camping in it for a bit then figured out how to get it home. Man, I'm not paying attention to the right places apparently. I reeeeallllly hope to see this in person or at least on the samba in the future. _________________ '88 SCA High/Pop-top Syncro camper

That would be the perfect vehicle for my mom's masterful idea for a mobile pot vending/dispensary. The stretchers could be used for vaporizer "test beds" _________________ Casey--

That thing deserves to be preserved so future generations can revel in its awesomeness, not flogged around in a mud pit.

It is a show piece now, me thinks.
The thing is basically new, if the weather did not eat it too much.
Could anyone resist the urge to drive it? _________________ "Use the SEARCH, Luke" But first visit the Vanagon FAQ!

Flame Suits OFF.....
I Kid, I Kid..... it would need to be driven and used in events, indeed, kept as stock as it is right now as it is a time capsule. I can only imagine all of the cool ancillary stuff that will likely come with it. The service records alone are just amazing. Do they salt the roads in Greenland?
But, can you see that thing with Das Mule sliders, Burley everything, some RMW this and that, some GW this and that, some VanCafe this and that, some T3 technique this and that..........
there is some really cool stuff coming available stateside with the 25 year import restrictions up......I am paying attention.....very close attention.
I want to see more of this van.......
anyone have any additional info?
( I forget which message board I found it on, but, it was likely one on Fakebook)
I am still digging in my history for when I found it...
More when I find it.
It was posted early morning June 13th, at least that is when I found it.

I will let you all know when it gets here how nice or not nice it is.
For the time being, it will stay stock. Lights and all.
Well, maybe;) It sure would look good with a lift and some 16 steelies...

So, I might have missed something here, but what did this finally sell for? (Was the price listed in Danish Krone, Euros or dollars?)
If this is an indicator of possible kewl European vehicles and their prices, . . . _________________ '86 Westy, 2.5 Subaru power

CONGRATS K. Wow, what a beauty. I cannot wait to see more pictures and I hope, someday, to be able to see it in person
A recent winfall now makes such whims all the more possible for me and I cannot wait to start bidding on some of these rare Syncro's that now can be imported to the US. Let us know if you are passing through PDX on your way home, we would love to host an event for you and your new baby.
Thanks for the update. I have been hoping someone on here bought it _________________ Happiness=Portland, Oregon in the rearview mirror! |
