My 1963 camper has 15 inch (not the stock 14 inch) bus wheels with 185/65 r15 tires on them. The front tires are pretty worn and I have an extra set of four painted 15 inch bus wheels, and I want to mount 205/75 r15 tires (a new set of extra tires came with the double door that I bought) on them. Will these fit alright inside the body? _________________ Don't worry; be happy. (Baba) |

You have bug size tires on there now, which are shorter than bus tires.
205 75 15s are the same diameter as the stock 6.40 -15s that the 55-63 buses came with, but wider. This means the speedometer should read accurate with these tires. they are wider than stock, but do fit.
I would not run a wider tire on my 61 with the flat wheel wells.
for example:

With a 63 the 205's will be fine to get on and off with the lipped wells, the 215's you have to wiggle in there on the rear with the flat well. |

I have them on my Dc . I lowered my rear a notch. Now I have to deflate rear tires to remove & install. other than that a great tire choice .from above stock height you shouldn't have any issues. I also like the tires that the shasta buses use. _________________ Just Cruzin Sur Califas VW Car Club est♤1998 |

by 'wiggle', you mean you can do that if you want your wheel wells stretching. |
