Short summary...

Found a couple at the rest area in a 69 bus (with a later DP engine) with what appears to be an oil cooler seal leak. AAA was going to be towing them to a relatvies house near me. I am trying to help them out.

Are type oil cooler seals (that I have 2 in my spare parts box) the same as type 1 sealsl?

The 10mm seals are the same between T1 and T4. If they have the 8mm ones then no. Good on ya for helping them out! Hope all goes smoothly.

Are the 10mm seal more common in a dual relief case? I was thinking they were. Of course I am not sure if they have a dual relief case or not though.

Good to know.

I figure we could get this engine out, change the seals and get it back in, in an afternoon. Likely tomorrow afternoon.

Good on ya.

Name another vehicle brand on the road today that would command that kind of roadside assistance from volunteers. Smile

Well no call yet to see if they need help.

It is about 100º here today and plenty humid. He may have had AAA just deliver the bus home (someplace in MA).
