More information required.

Are you the guy that has an alternator installed where the generator used to be?

You might have an internal regualtor inside the alternator. Some do, some don't. Is there a number on the alternator you are using?

don't know I will look later. The alternator I have came with the conversion kit from wolfsburg west.

the alternator does have a internal regulator.
