Just got done cleaning out the inside of the front beam and I am noticing areas with rust inside. Any suggestions on not to treat or no need and could continue to insert the torsion leaves? |

Depends on how much rust. Can you get a brush down into there to knock off most of it? _________________ In Stereo, Where Available! |

I've seen salt area buses with rusted through beams. Check your beam for rust through, and replace if it is rusted through.
Should be packed with grease, so should not rust inside. If there is a little surface rust inside, I guess try to clean it out.
Pack that beam with grease when assembling. Use at least a couple tubes.
When installed, lube the beam.
Lube again at the 300 mile inspection.
Lube again, until it just takes a couple pumps till thick clean grease emerges.
Lube the bus every 3,000 miles, or at 1,200 miles if driven on poor roads.
Grease is good. Your beam loves grease. _________________ The Obsolete Air-Cooled Documentation Project http://oacdp.org/ |

The beam is pretty solid. The rusted area inside doesn’t seem bad I just didn’t want it to continue to grow so figured I should try to clean or treat it. If I understand correctly I am fine leaving it as just as long as I keep it packed with grease?

If you really want to save your beam tap the towers for a nipple each and fill them up with grease too. In rust belt and Canada the towers tend to rot where the water accumulates at the bottom of the towers. _________________ Pritchin'
