That’s what my brother was thinking. When I was troubleshooting my van for a no start he was asking me if there was any kind of diagnostic we can do other than the Bentley troubleshooting. According the everything I’ve read there isn’t for the early 80’s vans. We also looked into what that little black and silver plug was on the dash in front of the passenger seat. Apparently it’s a plug for a heated jacket? Lol. |

I have a 1987 doka with the 1.6 TD. Without a good shop manual for this motor my question is more about "what part is missing?" on this manifold vent. Any ideas?

The "four thing connector" connects to the vehicle speed sensor on the speedometer. See if your speedometer has the VSS on it. I added a hybrid VSS on my van:

That's definitely the cruise control unit, so someone either removed the rest of the CC or they decided to add the ECU to eff with someone down the line. |
Interesting. I'll have to check if the rest of the system is there. Weird though. _________________ '90 Little Blue Truck, 2WD auto, FAS GenV 2.0 NA (AVH) |

Unused connector on my Manual ‘90
Maybe it was for a dash light in other cars using the same computer _________________ 1988 Vanagon

Hi
Removed the glovebox yesterday to work on the new stereo. What's this, and specifically what is this 4-thing connector with three wires in it?
Where should I plug it so I can hopefully gain 30 horsepower?
After a bit of research, the grey box is a Cruise Control ECU? But I don't have Cruise Control on the van... Is it some sort of prewiring? _________________ '90 Little Blue Truck, 2WD auto, FAS GenV 2.0 NA (AVH) |

The last photo is of a seat organizer. The piece in top of photo belongs on the bottom of the other piece.
Also supposed to be two hooks to go over seat top.
It’s made for police but we use to get them at phone company for our trucks.
It’s molded to hold a baton,3-cell plus maglite.
Two spots for hand cuffs.
It’s broken..toss it. _________________ Bill M

I see supports for the exhaust system (you'll have fun finding where they each go), engine tins (left & right) and tie rod boots.
I do not recognize the subject of the last photo. |

Trying to put my purchase back together after the PO disassembled nearly everything.
What are these parts?

It's just a vacuum hose that goes to the aux air regulator. You can take it to FLAPs and get a new one. _________________ Brandon
