Sorry for not searching 1st. That thread you listed has no valuable information about this new possible reality. Given the now low cost LifePo4 batteries available now and the easy transition to a 48V solar and battery BMS system (stand alone away from the cars built in stock system). I don't see a reason this shouldn't be considered an eye opener big time for our rigs that need just a boost sometimes pulling into a highway or struggling over a pass?

Why do all that when you can just jam the fresh air tubes into the carb and double the horsepower ? The right one works best due to the Coriolis force.

From the referenced thread; "Motor is 5 KW, and duty cycle for keeping in charge is 10:1, ie if you boost for 10 seconds, you need 100 seconds to restore charge." That is for the kit battery to recover not the motor. If we rigged our vans with giant and now low cost batteries to allow this it could be a win win. Turbo for as long as you want and get the cave men (me included) out of using lead acid batteries.

| That's $2500 for the unit for install on an engine with no knock control, and a fuel injection system that isn't designed to accommodate the added air. How much more useful information are you looking for on the subject? |

If you're not going to worry about engine management, tuning, injectors, or any of the ancillary modifications, it wouldn't be hard to strap a turbo to the J pipe and route it back to the intake. You don't even need an exhaust really, just a dump pipe.
