The show this year is on Sunday August 4th.
Swap meet booths are $30, which includes one admission.
Show and Shine entry is $30, and includes one admission.
Drag racing tech card is $35 for Sportsman and Street, $45 for Pro.
Admission: $10 (I don't know if you have to pay to park like in the years past, I would count on it though.)
Hours: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sound limit: 103 dBA
Oh and we have a meet up the morning of for the people that want to cruise to the show in a group.
It starts at the Beaverton Fred Meyers near the Starbucks.
We meet up and leave there at no later than 6:40AM.
This gets us in the lines waiting for the gates to open and not down the side of the road or in the grass.
Here is a link to the information for the show on Facebook...

In need of a pedal splitbus pedal splash pan if anyone has one they'd like to sell (posting WTB ad in classifieds, too) |

Hi -
Is it cool to bring a 356 to this event and put it on the show field?
I don't need to enter the judging, but like the nice parking.
Thanks. |

| I can't believe they raised the show and shine to $30. What a rip off. |

Ask the promoters what it costs to put on an event (insurance, facility, rental, etc.) and THEN see if you have a legitimate bitch. Just sayin'... |

That's the price to be paid (literally!) in a segment of the automotive hobby with a very finite population (declining, ultimately, in the big scheme of things). |

I appreciate and understand how much time and effort goes into these shows
but one major issue I had with this show this year was the guy who was directing traffic abandoned his post way to early allowing traffic coming off the freeway to cut in front of those who had been waiting patiently
for me this was a huge slap in the face by both the incoming participants and the show organizers
another issue I had was the way the swap was laid out I think it would be easier to have it in several smaller rows instead of two very long ones
partly because the ends of the rows were bumpy and hard to maneuver thru and I doubt they were easy for the swapper to set up on
I also liked it better when the show was in the grass area closer to the track
I felt it was extremely less organized this year compared to pervious years
that plus the poor turn out of the racers has me debating whether or not I will be attending in the future
I have really enjoy this show in the past and I hope this will be a wake up call to the organizers to improve it for the next years to come or I fear this show will wither away like other have _________________ '60 15 window walkthrough

I am with you on that traffic mess. 45 mins in that line, only to get up towards the gate to find all the cars from the freeway getting right in. There were good parts scores though!! My highlight was a Coleman 2/41 lantern with a mysterious USBPA on the collar. All and all a good time. Very nice to see Marcell on the move!! |

I met Marcell while on some mission with Adam back in 98 or 99 at random. He gave me some honey from his bees at the show. Love it!! Lately we have been in touch more often. I love that guy! At
Woodburn,he was just getting started! He is beating this!! Stronger by the day! I have no doubt soon he will be changing another TDI timing belt and wp.I just hope we are in the same shop at that time. |

I too waited patiently in line, only to see all the people coming off the freeway and cutting right ahead.
Then the old lady at the ticket booth greeted me with "just looking?" and looked surprised when I said no I want to be IN the show. I'm sure that turned off some people who would have liked to show their car but now felt unsure that it was even worthy haha. I think this is true cause I saw a lot of nice cars over in the regular parking area.
I'm still glad I came out, met a lot of nice people, saw some old friends, got some compliments on my bus...
It was a good day! |

As a long time supporter of this show I will make sure that Portland International Raceway reads these comments in this forum and hope they will do something to resolve these issues. _________________ John Jensen

Always V-Dub also needs to be aware as the promoter... if they're still leading the event's organization? |
