Is there any sheet metal replacement panels made for the bottom of the front window on a '69. Is there a source for it? _________________ Drive it every day! |

Yes. You can replace the sill, from the bulge up or the entire nose. Genuine VW noses are available from Brazil still. I saw a new NOS one on eBay for $500 a while ago. I can't remember who it was but they had several.
Klokkerholm (bought Veng) is a Euro company that makes body panels.
There's also AHS. Bus Depot and Wolfgang International and US distributors for AHS. I used the AHS #29 panels for my window repair. The were the correct length and curvature but required some bending because the original panels had some compound brakes in them and I wanted a perfect fit for the seal. Worked out great. _________________ '78 Westfalia CDN

What about '68-72 noses? The guy I bought my '72 from smashed it just before he sold it (had to sell it to pay the traffic ticket), and now the top half is a little deformed and the bottom half is a cheesegrater hidden by all the bondo.
The "cheesegrater" is because of all the holes that were punched to pull the panel back out. I do know, however, that some of the area around the turn driver's turn signal just doesn't line up anymore.
What about exterior trim? My deluxe, like so many, is missing the rear passenger corner piece. I can't find the trim sets available anywhere. |
