Hi All,

Quick question, what's the correct paint code for the wheel centres on a January 52 L36 Azure Blue car. I've got the spare in original paint and it's definitely more of a grey than a cream/beige, can anyone help?

Many thanks
David

There was more than one combination. I have seen OG cars with the more cream color and my October '51 split has the more tan color like what was used on the steering column.

That's L75 Light Beige/Hellbeige that's what we've got, but the colour is way different than the original wheel.

What's the codes for the other combinations?

I've found a couple of shots in the gallery. This looks like the right colour. I could really do with the paint code. Anyone know?

I'm beginning to suspect the colour is L21 Pearl Grey, here's a car in that colour. What's the vote against the above photos?

Did you ever find out the correct code?

Was it L21?

As he wrote above, the correct colour is L75 lichtbeige.
If you have differences to the original colour, it might be a faded original colour, or a wrong mixing formula.
By mixing a colour today after an old formula, you often get other results compared to a survived original colour and should adapt your formula to the result of a slightly sanded and polished area of original paint that was hidden in a shade area.
For example: Do you really get the same 1K original paint from the same brand/supplier as VW in the fifties? If yes, do you really know that this supplier is mixing his paints after the original receipts and is still getting the same pigments as 60 years before?
