have you considered making the tool also. Sell a tool, and 2 pair of shims.

I'd buy.

I was actually going to do that on my first run, however it required a retooling fee as I outsource the manufacturing (cost prohibitive).

...and honestly, using the drawing in the OP, the tool can just be simply made from card stock.

But shiny tools do have their appeal.

I'll update this thread when I have received stock.

Well, as luck would have it, I bought another bus (72' Westy) last fall. Sure enough, when doing the front disc brakes, the OEM shims were brittle, rusted, and unusable. Did I have the foresight to keep at least one full set of my stainless shims for personal use? Short answer - no.

So, since I was happy with the shims I've been using in my 71', and need them for my 72', I've decided to make another run.

I'll can have some extras made if anyone is interested. It'll be about 6 weeks.

Please put me on the list

Yep you can mark me down for 2 sets. Let me know and I'll send payment as soon as they are ready. Awesome when someone make a quality version that is better than the original part that is hard to get. Keep up the good work!

Hi Folks,
This afternoon I received a new batch of shims. I know there are a few of you interested in a full set - so I just updated my old classified ad - and relisted them there. Even though production costs went up a little, I relisted at the same price as before.

I ask though, that due to this limited run, that you keep the order to one set for now. Make sure they meet your needs. Plus it lets a few others get a set.
If, at the end of the month some orders remained unclaimed, I'll PM those that requested more, and I'll eat the shipping.

Thanks folks.

I got my shim set today. what a joke.

he should have charged more. these are like jewelry for brake pads and it's almost criminal that you will never see them.

I'm still gonna polish them anyway Very Happy

they fit perfectly. dude, you rock! they would still be a bargain at twice the price.

thanks for all your effort. hopefully the people that ordered them will feel the same.

I hope you didn't have too many folks flake out on you. if you did, let me know and I will see how many more sets I need, then see how many I feel like hoarding

killer work, and much appreciated!
