My iphone on Verizon has worked in every country I have been in Europe. I have no idea what the frequency issue is though.

Legacy Verizon was CDMA ONLY which didnít work in EU

No longer an issue since iPhone 5 on up.

Got it.

I need a tracker that works on GSM, not CDMA only, if I am using it in Europe.

I believe the model I posted above is CDMA only... D'oh!

Dan,

Can you post full links for the product you ordered? I cannot get anything from the partial links.

Thanks.

OK. I've been doing more digging on the new version TK419.

I found this supplier. Looks like a direct link to China.

https://www.eelinktracker.com/sos-button-4g-lte-gps-tracker.html

I have emailed with them about the specs for the unit since there seems to be some info lacking on websites. Here is the reply.

Based on this I ordered 2 units. One for my '87 westy and the other for the euro bus.

$115.00 for 2 units (includes shipping).

I think this one will work for my needs. Very Happy

Do these sim cards notify you via text or whatever that your rig is being touched, moved? Or is it an after the fact, means of allowing you to track(locate) your rig?

You'd need to read the specs for the actual unit you have in mind.

Many of them do have a motion sensor alert and almost all have a geofence option.

Taking a look at #54 right now.

https://landairsea.com/collections/real-time

Read the Amazon reviews of it...half seemed to be canned reviews about cheating spouse etc., etc.

I expect to receive a tk419 on 23th Nov, paid a bit extra for faster shipping.
Currently I have a tk103 (2G GSM only) installed. It is configured with fuel pump disconnect and starter inhibitor. Both of those features are failsafe in that if the the tk103 is disconnected normal operation is restored. Both are enabled if the van is outside the virtual fence location and the speed exceeds 10mph. They work in conjunction with an inexpensive Crimestopper alarm.
Because our van has been stolen once already, and recovered three weeks later, I am
a bit paranoid and also have a Spot Trace installed. Both are powered by the starting and house batteries via largqqish diodes and a small 4ah LFP battery. Overkill, maybe? I am a belt and suspenders man.

Here's a new tracking product built by a Vanagon owner. 4G, gps tracker, remote kill switch via cell service (if I read it correctly)...

Thank you JIm. I promise I will not be annoying on this thread with a bunch of advertisements, but I have just released Van Tracker, a remote automatic kill switch + tracker + movement detector specifically designed for Vanagon.

The website is www.thevantracker.com and video playlist is below. The 2nd video is a little dense but covers everything VT can do. The 3rd and 4th videos are demos and are probably easier to digest

The documentation is here:

And a whole thread on it is here (to avoid hijacking this thread):
