I am not trivializing the amount of work you have done and need to do yet, but I am amazed at how solid most of the frame and top hats ETC look with how rusted out that floor is!

I am very impressed with you welding skills and am a bit envious of how artistic your finished product looks. Hell is my work looked that good I would seriously consider not grinding done the frame repair welds. Reminds me of the welds you used to find on titanium bike frames!

Thanks and I was also surprised at how solid the frame and cross beams are. The top hats are another story as they are shot. We didn't purchase these so I will attempt to make my own.

Hiya Wrstp, nice to see another rescue of yours. About the tophats and I-beams-aren't there a similiar thickness US made tubes or channels that could replace these rust prone pieces? Are they the same as Bay cross pieces?

I'm not sure on both questions as I have never looked the beams or hats. As far as being the same as bay maybe someone reading can help us.

I have some pics somewhere of the bus buried in snow so I wonder if this is why the edges are so crispy and not the center. I will have to look later and see if I can't find them.

I found a few pics of where the bus lived for many years and might shed some light on the amount of rust it has.

I'm just glad these aren't the last pics ever of this bus even if it is a pain in the neck.

I started working on the jack support and finally got it mocked up. It's not perfect and I need to adjust a few numbers and bends but almost ready to weld. I tacked the inner rocker and out riggers and will leave them tacked till I get a few more pieces made just to make sure I'm not to far off.

Just rookie curiosity, but shy would one go to the trouble of mocking up jacking points from scratch when they are available and inexpensive?

No trouble really just trying to bring back made in America one piece at a time. Seriously though I enjoy making as many panels as possible and who knows maybe someday I will have my own line of inexpensive quality panels.

Hi,
Would you mind posting a picture of the blue split window in the background in one of the pictures on this thread. Is that a bad ass metal custom wagon that you made with your skills? I only say that because I see a black handle like you would see on a traditional wagon......It looks really cool.

Sorry for the long pause I got a little side tracked helping a friend with some custom panels for his motorcycle. I did get the drivers inner rocker and outriggers installed and will get back with pics shortly. Thanks to all that follow.
