hi
does somebody know,whatfore the gearbox between the upper and lower speedometer cables are for? isn't it possible to just put 1 longer cable between the front wheel and the speedometer into the car??

It just brings the EGR light on every X many miles (10k from memory).

A stock length cable will work fine.

It's just a mechanical counter to turn on the EGR light every 30,000 miles.
It was a reminder to get service done every 30K, it can be very easily bypassed.

Edit: saw Joel's response, maybe it was 10K, I don't remember either.

We were both off, just checked the manual it was every 15,000miles.
