Anyone know what this part went to? It seems to be a tube that ends within the same part then becomes a solid. 74 Westy

It's the balance pipe for the power brake vacuum. One end is crimped off. The nipple sticking out pokes through the front engine cover and the vacuum hose goes there, forward to the servo. The crimped off end is a modification (not supposed to be like that) and attaches to a little rubber elbow and then to the intake manifold.

Maybe not this exact one but similar. There are a few different versions of this part. I don't think I've seen this one in the photo with two nipples, usually they have one. This might be for an automatic.

Thank you! Very interesting. My new manifolds do not have a vacuum outlet though. Guess I will need to research it more.
