I have a nice full length middle bay seat for my 1967 bus.
Only my m-code says that i need a 2/3 middle seat.
What should i do?
Recover this the full lenght same as the rest.
Trade for a 2/3 bay middle and recover?
Only problem: Could i install a 2/3 bay middle in my split 1967?
Are all the bay 2/3 middle seat the same? |

If you are wanting to make your bus true to it's M-codes, then a bay seat doesn't really work, correctness-wise. Bay 2/3 seats will fit a 67.
Do you like the full length seat? If so, keep it. |

@Z
I can not afford a orginal split middle seat. Thats the reason why im looking for a bay seat.
I like the full lenght but i prefer a 2/3 more.
Will all 2/3 bay seat fit a 67 split?
What is the mean difference between a orginal and a bay?
@oviedoav
Do you have a 2/3 seat? Do you have a photo of it? |

Gotcha...sounded like you were only changing b/c of your m-code plate. I prefer the 2/3 seat as well, and I feel lucky that my original 67 2/3 middle seat was still in my current bus when I got it - I wouldn't like shelling out for one, either.
AFAIK all bay middle seats will fit a split, but there may be some late bay stuff that is different. Aside from the obvious upholstery differences, I think the shape of the seat is the same, so 67 style seat covers should fit (check that before you spend any $, tho.)
Bay middles have a slightly fatter arm rest pad. Not sure about the grab handles on bay seats...seems like many don't have them. I had a bay 2/3 middle in my old 67 deluxe - all seats had been recovered, so it matched the rest. Worked just fine.

I put a bay middle seat in a 65 and it had tobe modified to fit the leg did not fit the mounting spot closest to the cargo doors it was a bit of hassle but it can be done. The arm rest would be incorrect for a true 67 split but can also be modified |
That's because your bus was a 65. 67's leg positions are the same as a bay.
You really need to find a 68 only bay seat (like the bay seat in the picture above) to look the most correct for a 67. Then you just need to add the grab handle with a little work to the tubes where the handle slides in. |

If your bus is a walkthru, then the 2/3 seat is great.
You can actually get from the drivers seat to the rear of the bus without opening any doors. Allows the walk thru to really work. _________________ Founder and Chairman Emeritus, ECMSAS

bay:
Note that this is a 68 only one year seat that are quite uncommon. The other 99% of bay seats have the arm rest coming out of the front of the seat and late bay seats have holes for head rests. _________________ 1966 Velvet Green Standard |

As i understand. The legs of every 2/3 bay seat are all the same.
The only difference is the arm rest en the holes for the head rest.
That is no problem for me. I wanna make it just like a orginal 2/3 middle seat of a 67.
That is not that lot of work i think. |
