What type of head light do you have?
Euro? Early sealed beam? Later sealed beam?

Exploded diagrams for the Ghia here....
https://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/manuals/ghia_parts_diagrams.php
You want Illustration 34 in section 9 Electrical Equipment /headlamp

The numbers refer to the parts listed in the parts book, here...
https://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/manuals/1972_ghia_parts_book.php

Though not technical drawings these are good enough to help when working out how all versions of this goes together.

74 sealed beam it would appear. All original bucket The part’s diagram is awesome, had never discovered it before. I did find one pic that would suggest that the adjusting screws would be at 9 and 12 o’clock position. Problem I might have is the the lugs on headlight only seat int assembly a certain way and throws everything else off. I have originals but decided to buy the Airhead version and that might be a little off too. Thanks for info.

The headlight fits into the holder one way. The headlight is marked 'TOP'. Then it fits into the bucket one way. TOP to the TOP.

Adjuster screws and the tension spring are movable. You want the spring between the two adjusters locations, it holds the two halves together. The 'up-down' adjuster location should either be at the top or bottom. Most times at the top so the beams can be adjusted downward. The 'right-left' adjuster location can be at 3 or 9 o'clock. Most times at 3 o'clock so the beam can be adjusted to the right better.
